Case Studies
The selected case studies on our site illustrate how criminality can affect the lives of ordinary people, pursuing everyday activities here in the UK.

Access to wealth, assets, funds and information can be motivators for criminals to act supported by weapons to commit blackmail, robbery, kidnap and murder to achieve their aims.

In these case study illustrations, no one died. However, the potential for a fatality in an adrenaline charged situation where firearms are being used is self-evident. The case studies represent true events where the victims where terrified and traumatised by their experiences. Should someone have tragically died, a criminal investigation hopefully leading to a just prosecution and punishment of the offenders would take place.

What would happen next?
Under the Corporate Manslaughter and Corporate Homicide Act 2007, where a work related death occurs and the duty of car is owed by an employer to the deceased, the Health & Safety Executive and the police could and will investigate the company to ensure that proper policies, procedures and risk assessments are in place, to afford the victim the best possible protection. Failing to offer such protection could be held as negligent and present the investigators with a Prima-Facia case for a prosecution under the Corporate Manslaughter and Corporate Homicide Act 2007.
