Tiger Kidnap

Tiger kidnapping is the abduction or holding of a hostage to persuade another person to aid in a crime.

The hostage, usually a close family member, will be carefully selected following extensive research into the background of the victim.

The offence is so-called because of the predatory stalking that precedes it; the crime often requires considerable inside information and careful planning.

Examples of industries affected by this offence are; banking, high-value goods, retail and supermarkets. Although this list is not exhaustive.
